SSA Introduced New Online Tools
The new online tools announced by the SSA are meant to make it easier to submit claims and track processing. This includes new forms that can be submitted online (Form HA-4631, Recent Medical Treatment; Form HA-4632, Medication Information; and Form HA-4633, Work Background) without the need for paper processing, as well as the ability to access certain notices online. It will also allow them to access proffer letters through the My Social Security online portal, and to see the progress of any ongoing appeals.
Addressing Difficulties Tracking Claims
These changes are intended to address complaints, which have noted that the ability to track ongoing claims at the SSA has been limited. Often, people may go weeks or months without hearing anything from the SSA about the status of their claim, and in some cases may not know anything until it is either accepted or rejected.
